Basic Ham and Bean Soup


1lb Uncooked Great Northern Beans
1lb Baby Carrots
1lb Bag Frozen Green Beans
1 Onion, Chopped
1 t Minced Garlic
1 t Mustard Powder
1/2 t Basil
1/2 t Dill
1 t Black Pepper
2lb Ham
8 C Water

Combine everything in a large stock pot on the stove. Simmer for about 2 hours, adding 1 cup of additional water at a time, as needed, to reach the consistency you prefer.
1 C of onion, carrot, green bean, and northern bean mixture = 1 vegetable serving
1 Ounce of cooked ham = 1 protein serving
