1/3 C Brown Sugar
1/3 C Shortening
2/3 C Molasses
1 Egg
3 C Flour
1 T Baking Powder
1-1/2 t Ginger
1-1/2 t Salt
Cream sugar and shotening. Beat in molasses and egg. Sift in flour, baking powder, ginger, and salt. Chill2 hours. Preheat oven to 250F. Roll out and cut with cookie cutter. Place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake 5 to 7 minutes. Cool slightly before removing to wire racks.
